The HAA Foundation, a non-governmental organization (NGO) in the Okaikoi South District of the Greater Accra Region of Ghana has called for a special attention to the men, women, and children including babies displaced by the recent explosion at the Appiatse township, near Bogoso in the Western Region of Ghana.

The HAA Foundation made the appeal after its visit to the Appiatse Relief Camp (Dumase New site), where the NGO donated new and used clothes, bags of rice, and money to the displaced victims of the tragic explosion that occurred at the Appiatse township near Bogoso.

According to the HAA Foundation, although the critically needed donations to support people of Appiatse centre around clothing and food, it is important to note that needs of the affected people go beyond clothing and food, and any donation that may support livelihoods, and ease off burden on the affected people in the Appiatse community is welcome and will be appreciated.

Speaking after presenting the donation to the affected community, the Founder and Leader of the HAA Foundation Ms. Harriet Anita Abaidoo (Mama Anita) said, “I had this feeling to clear my wardrobe first for the affected community. If I am going to solicit support for the victims of the explosion, what about myself? What have I done? I need to set the pace by my example.”

Therefore, I decided to travel to Appiatse with my team to donate to the affected community and have a first-hand assessment of the ground truth to know the immediate needs of the victims of the explosion and how to help moving forward. The affected community needs our support. Therefore, any humanitarian assistance that is affordable by you, please contact the HAA Foundation, which will represent you and present your donation to the affected victims of the Appiatse community.
